Dániel Mikecz is an external scientific advisor to the Institute. He holds a degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of ELTE. He defended his doctoral thesis summa cum laude at the same university. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science of the Centre for Social Science Research and an Associate Lecturer at the Institute of Political Science of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of ELTE. He was awarded the Bolyai János Research Fellowship in 2023. In the academic year 2024-2025, he will be a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh. His main research interests are social movements, political protest, political participation. His most recent books are Das politische System Ungarns (2023, Nomos Verlag, as co-author), Civil movements in an illiberal regime: political activism in Hungary (2023, CEU Press).
