From one moment to the next, the tax system became the focus of next year's parliamentary election campaign. The issue affects people's livelihoods, so it is essential to understand the possible tax systems and their potential consequences and realities.
Several different tax programs have been proposed in the parties' platforms, and it is important to examine which ones Hungarian society can accept. However, taxation is not only a political issue, but above all an economic one. That is why we at the Republikon Institute thought it was time to talk clearly and comprehensively about the domestic tax system, the possible alternatives, and the advantages and disadvantages of each tax system. Our conference will open with a breakfast for ministers of economy and finance, where we will ask former ministers of economy and finance about the topic, and in the second part, well-known economists will talk about the most important things to know about taxation.
